Body
We offer abdominoplasty for abdominal contouring with removal of excess fat and skin. The procedure includes abdominal wall muscle tightening. Goal is harmonic and natural silhouette.
Abdominoplasty
The incision is placed low across the abdomen from one hip bone to the other, positioned so that the resulting scar is easily concealed beneath underwear or a swimsuit. The skin is separated from the abdominal wall up to the rib cage, giving access to the full abdominal area. Where necessary, separated abdominal muscles are sutured together to restore core firmness. Excess skin is removed and the navel is repositioned to a natural-looking location. Drainage tubes are temporarily placed under the skin to remove excess fluid.

Procedure Overview
Who is abdominoplasty suitable for
Abdominoplasty is designed for men and women who have excess hanging skin and fat on the abdomen that cannot be eliminated through exercise or diet. The most common candidates are women after one or more pregnancies who have developed diastasis recti (separation of the abdominal muscles), or patients after significant weight loss. A stable body weight is an important prerequisite — results are permanent when the patient maintains their weight. The procedure is not suitable for women planning future pregnancies. At your Aesthgery consultation, we assess your health, degree of skin redundancy, and recommend the most appropriate scope — from mini-abdominoplasty to full abdominoplasty with navel repositioning.
The procedure
Abdominoplasty is performed under general anesthesia and takes approximately 2–3 hours. The surgeon makes an incision from hip to hip just above the pubic bone, in a location that can be concealed by underwear or a swimsuit. The skin is separated from the muscle fascia, the rectus abdominis muscles are pulled together and reinforced with absorbable sutures. Excess skin is removed and the navel is repositioned to its natural location on the new skin surface. At the end of the procedure, drains are placed to remove post-operative fluid, and the wound is closed in layers. The patient is hospitalized for 1–2 nights for safe monitoring.
Recovery and results
After surgery, it is essential to wear a compression garment or abdominal binder for 2 months — this supports healing, reduces swelling, and shapes the final contour. Drains are typically removed on day 7. Sutures are absorbable; the ends are trimmed at approximately 3 weeks. Swelling usually subsides within 4–6 weeks; the final result is fully visible after 2–6 months. The scar runs low and is discreet. Results are permanent with stable weight — the tightened muscle wall and removed excess skin do not return. Physical activity is restricted for 3–4 weeks; light walking is possible from day one.
Risks and complications
Abdominoplasty is a more extensive procedure, making thorough pre-operative preparation essential. Possible complications include temporary swelling, bruising, temporary skin numbness, or wound healing issues. At Aesthgery clinic, we perform comprehensive pre-operative assessments and provide post-operative care to minimize the risk of complications. Dr. Šormová will discuss your health status and lifestyle in detail during your consultation.
